Wharfedale get back into action on Saturday after a two-week lay-off due to poor weather.

Last Saturday, the match at The Avenue was the only one to be postponed, which gave their relegation rivals the chance to open the gap a little wider.

When Wharfedale’s players and spectators look back on this troubled season, they will no doubt consider the highlight to have been their win on November 24 against Rosslyn Park, who had just taken over the leadership of SSE National League One.

But that was to be their last victory until February 23, a run which has caused even more palpitations than usual at this stage of the season as they watch their closest rivals Macclesfield and Tynedale disappear over the horizon.

Survival, however, is still in Wharfedale’s own hands, but they know that they need to win all their matches from now on.

And what better place to begin than at Rosslyn Park itself? The fourth-placed club have had some fine results this season, but have been stuttering of late, winning only two of their last six matches.

The selectors welcome back Christian Georgiou to play in the centre, with lock Rhys Davies coming on to the bench after impressing with the Foresters.

Wharfedale (at Rosslyn Park): Adam Whaites; Lloyd Davies, Christian Georgiou, Luke Gray, Simon Horsfall; Tom Barrett, Philip Woodhead; Chris Steele (c), Steve Graham, Mark Tampin, Adam Howard, Richard Rhodes, Tom Wareing, Dan Solomi, Aaron Myers. Replacements: Joe Altham, Ian Larkin, Rhys Davies, Jim Mason, James Gough.
