HAWORTH rider Andy Peace reckons that the iconic Peel Park cyclo-cross course in Bradford has never been more testing than it was last Saturday.
The Shibden Cycling Club member finished second behind former Cononley resident, clubmate Ian Taylor, in a muddy men’s over-50s race in the final round of the Yorkshire Points Series.
Peace, who confessed that Peel Park was his best race this season, said: “I made a steady start but it probably took me a lap and a half to work out the best lines, and it was every man for himself out there.
“This is the muddiest, most challenging that it (Peel Park) has ever been, but I don’t mind running with my bike really, and I loved that off-camber section below the promenade.
“It was my best race of the season but my season has been average.
“I am getting older and seem to be racing less each winter, but I will still keep plugging away.”
