I FEEL I must get something off my chest with regards to these Police Camera Vans that are appearing in Settle, Langcliffe, Stainforth and Horton.

I like many other drivers in the area are getting penalised with these vans that are catching people who are trying to work and carry on with there lives and are being victimised with getting hit with speeding fines.

I have spoken with many people in the area like myself that are working and, yep, maybe we are doing a speed of 35mph in a 30mph limit, but is that really speeding?

I work six days a week couriering and Saturdays are the worst days up in Horton, Langcliffe, Stainforth and Studfold, with motorcyclists using the road as if they were at the TT in the Isle Of Man; I’m not having a pop at all motorcyclists but some are just idiots with their speed. I ask are these people getting done because if not, they are the guys that should be penalised doing between 70-100mph, especially on that straight road from Selside to Stonehouse.

I’m frustrated as I am not a speed king and to be hit with my second speeding fine of 2017 and I’m only doing 35mph I find is a little harsh.

I have spoken with Settle Police who also say that unfortunately it has nothing to do with them as they are coming from York, Harrogate and Skipton.

Can someone explain why they are HERE and not patrolling their own areas? I’m sure other people in this area and community have an opinion on this, I just want some common sense when looking for speeding motorists
