Lloyds and Halifax banks are set to close more high street branches as part of a wider shake-up that will see 250 sites shut by the end of 2027.

The closures, announced by Lloyds Banking Group, form part of a multi-year plan to reduce its physical footprint across the UK as more customers shift to online and mobile banking.

The closures affect both Lloyds and Halifax branches, with 250 set to close in 2026 and 2027.

This follows the shutdown of more than 20 Lloyds Bank branches in October and 31 earlier in the year.
