SKIPTON-based Principle Healthcare International has won the UKTI Export Achievement Award at the Medilink Yorkshire and Humber Awards 2014.

The awards, held in partnership with the Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN), celebrate the achievements of healthcare technology and life science companies from across Yorkshire and Humber.

The UKTI Export Achievement Award is given to a company for outstanding performance in international trade.

Principle was presented with the accolade in front of more than 150 delegates at the ceremonial dinner, which was held at the Sheffield City Hall as part of the inaugural Medilink Winter Ball.

The evening was compered by England rugby union legend, Brian Moore.

Victoria Boldison, international brand controller at Principle Healthcare International, said: “It’s absolutely fantastic to receive this award - we didn’t expect to win at all!

“This award win is all about the team which has been doing an outstanding job over the last 12 months. We’re looking forward to even more success in 2015, we’ll continue to innovate and keep growing.”

Principle Healthcare will now be put forward for the Medilink UK Awards. If successful, it will compete with other organisations from across the UK for the national title. The Medilink UK Awards take place on April 29 at the Med Tech Innovation Expo, held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

Kevin Kiely, managing director of Medilink Yorkshire & Humber, said: “Our region has for many years been recognised for its achievements in the healthcare technologies sector and the quality of this year’s award winners and nominees reinforces our credentials as a leader in healthcare innovation.

“I look forward to Yorkshire and Humber being well represented at the Medilink UK awards in April – I’m sure our companies will do us proud.”
