KWIK Fit, the UK’s leading tyre retailer which has an outlet in Skipton, is supporting Tyre Safety Month.
Running throughout October, the initiative aims to highlight the importance of making regular tyres checks.
A study for Kwik Fit revealed that only just over a third of drivers (36 per cent) checked their tyres at least once a month, while a fifth said they either never check them at all or did so just once a year.
Kwik Fit is a member of TyreSafe, which is dedicated to raising awareness of the dangers associated with illegal or defective tyres.
Roger Griggs, communications director at Kwik Fit, said: “TyreSafe carries out very important work in reminding drivers how crucial tyres are to both their own safety, and that of fellow road users. We encourage all drivers to make a monthly tyre check part of their motoring routine."
