Grassington Festival has revealed some of its main acts for 2013.

Once again, the two-week extravaganza of music and art will showcase the top acts, artists, musicians and ensembles from around the world.

It will run from Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 29 and kicking off the headline Festival in the Field events on Wednesday, June 26 will be Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

They will be followed on Thursday, June 27 by the world-famous Black Dyke Band, which has just won the English National Brass Band Championships and is the most recorded brass band in the world.

On Friday, June 28, the festival team will welcome back The Orchestra, starring former ELO members.

It played at a sellout concert at the festival three years ago and wowed the marquee audience with hits like Roll Over Beethoven and Mr Blue Sky.

And the Last Night Party on Saturday, June 29 might just be one of the liveliest ever.

It will feature the legendary and energetic The Levellers, who have been on the folk roots scene for a quarter of a century and have won countless awards, including the 2011 Roots Awards at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Festival director Kate Beard said: “Everyone in the festival team is delighted to be able to bring such high quality, internationally-renowned acts to next June’s festival.

“We would encourage anyone looking for an unusual gift for an arts lover this Christmas to consider buying tickets and even a patronage package which offers a range of exclusive benefits to our supporters and helps us continue to bring world class events to our corner of the world.”

Tickets go on sale to star patrons today (Thursday), to patrons on Monday and to the general public on Wednesday.
