Despite cancelling Sunday’s concert, Tarras will be performing in Settle this month.

It was forced to call off its Victoria Hall gig after lead singer Ben Murray, who also plays The Songman in the West End production of War Horse, had to have an emergency operation last week and was told he could not sing for seven days.

But the a six-piece band is determined not to let down its Settle fans and has rescheduled the concert for next Sunday, August 18.

Victoria Hall manager Ann Harding said: “Ben plays on the London stage Monday evening to Saturday so can only do Sunday nights and could easily have just cancelled our show, but he and the band have hastily rearranged their lives so that the audience in Craven and at the Victoria Hall isn’t let down.”

A statement from the band said: “Tarras haven’t had much of a chance to play together this year because Ben is so busy in London playing The Songman in War Horse and we were really looking forward to having a great night at The Victoria Hall in Settle, which we know is becoming a venue that loads of musicians want to be associated with.

“The good news is that people who couldn’t come on the 4th, now have a chance to buy tickets for the 18th!”

Tarras will be supported by two local 16-year-olds.Heather Sharp, of Gargrave, and Guy Daws, from Bolton By Bowland, will play in public for the first time with their duo Bertollina.
