The Vacation Chamber Orchestra will perform Music for a Summer Afternoon at Airton on Monday.

With an eclectic and sometimes surprising programme of classical works, the afternoon at the Quaker Meeting House promises to provide followers of classical music with an umissable experience.

The orchestra is made up of 18 talented young musicians, who have been visiting the Yorkshire Dales from all over the UK and Europe.

With a view to pursuing a career in classical music, they have taken part in a week of professional tutoring.

Now they are embarking on a short series of classical concerts around the Dales.

Xen Kelsey, the orchestra’s musical director, said: “We provide unique learning and performing experiences for talented young musicians and it’s always a pleasure to share these experiences with audiences in Yorkshire, especially the smaller venues like Airton.”

The concert will start at 3.30pm and tickets costing £10 are available from 01729 830263.
