The South Craven-based KVU Singers will hold their young performers concert at Christ Church, Skipton, next Sunday, November 17 – and among the young stars will be a ten-year-old pianist.

The event has become an important fixture in the choir’s calendar and showcases the talent of up-and-coming performers from the local area and further afield.

Among those taking part is young pianist Evie Kitching, who is a familiar face after competing in many festivals.

She has recently been accepted for the Saturday morning school at the Leeds College of Music.

Also playing the piano will be 17-year-old Josie Conti, from Skipton, who is studying classical music at Leeds College of Music.

Josie will be performing some solo items, but will also be accompanying her friend and fellow Leeds College student Victoria Price.

Seventeen-year-old Victoria is a vocalist and her ambition is to be a professional singer.

The fourth performer at the concert is Jamie Edgerton, also 17.

A saxophonist and clarinettist, Jamie is in the sixth form at The King’s School in Macclesfield and plays with Wigan Youth Jazz Band as well as various bands and ensembles at school. He too wants to become a professional musician.

The young performers concert starts at 3pm and admission is free, although there will be a collection.
