AS a result of the great success of the 16th annual Kelbrook Art Exhibition, held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the organisers were able to donate £550 each to nominated charities - Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Pendleside Hospice.
A record footfall resulted in 53 pictures being sold of the 285 works on display - an impressive percentage of around 20 per cent.
All proceeds are donated to charities which benefit the local area, and are raised from picture entry fees; a ten per cent commission on sales, the popular homemade refreshments, and the raffle of a picture donated by successful local artist, Ann-Marie Atkinson. The committee wish to thank all artists for their continued support, in addition to the bakers and volunteers who helped make the event such a success.
