SKIPTON: The heroic adventures of the infamous Mr Toad of Toad Hall are being brought to life on the Little Theatre stage.

Skipton Players are performing a modern adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s Wind in the Willows.

The show runs until Saturday, with evening performances at 7.30pm and a matinee performance at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Mill Bridge Gallery is staging an exhibition to highlight the work of the Craven RSPCA.

Other Animals features photography and sculpture and invites the visitor to consider the diversity and beauty of the other species.

Skipton Community Orchestra will perform a Christmas concert at Christ Church C of E School tomorrow at 7pm.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will hold a Christmas music and traditions evening on Monday.

It will take place at the Narrow Boat pub at 8.30pm and all are welcome.

SETTLE: New theatre group Take 2 is staging its first pantomime, The Witch that Nicked Christmas, in Victoria Hall.

Written by singer, songwriter and broadcaster Mike Harding, it follows the hilarious quest of two young children who want to reclaim Christmas from the evil witch Mabel Shuffelwick.

It runs until tomorrow, with curtains up at 7.30pm.

Linton Court Gallery is staging a winter exhibition, A Moveable Feast, featuring paintings, drawings, original prints, sculptures and ceramics.

It will run until December 20.

There will be a festive feel to tomorrow’s Settle Sessions event at The Folly.

There will be a reception and brief annual meeting at 6.30pm before members are entertained from 7.30pm with a selection of poems from a new anthology called Say Cheese by prizewinning children’s author and poet Ann Pilling.

The programme will contain items by Settle Amateur Operatic Society, Settle Voices, Settle College, Settle Primary School, Langcliffe Singers, Octameron, Giggleswick and Settle Junior Band and organists Graham Toft and Paul Fisher.

Settle Music will hold one of its popular guitar sessions next Friday, December 12.

It will take place at Settle Primary School from 7pm to 9pm and the cost is £5.

ADDINGHAM: Skipton Brass Band will perform in the Memorial Hall tonight at 8pm.

It will play a mix of traditional, contemporary and seasonal music, with some audience participation.

GIGGLESWICK: The Richard Whiteley Theatre will screen a new production of Arthur Miller’s classic American drama, The Crucible. Based on Salem’s infamous witch trials, the show is being staged at the Old Vic and will be screened via Cinema Live tonight at 7.30pm and Sunday, December 14, at 2.30pm.

North Craven singing group Octameron will join forces with Phoenix Strings for a concert at the Richard Whiteley Theatre on Saturday.

A Festive Fantasia will feature Octameron’s usual varied repertoire, ranging from Mozart through to Les Miserables, and music from Phoenix Strings, a Lancashire-based string orchestra of 40 musicians.

Tickets cost £10 and are available online and by post from the theatre.

GLUSBURN: The classic film, White Christmas, will be staged at the institute tomorrow at 7pm.

Admission is £5 for adults and £3.50 for concessions, on the door.

GRASSINGTON: Grassington Players will present an evening of entertainment in the town hall on Saturday to coincide with the Dickensian Festival.

And, it will be repeated at a “locals” night on Thursday, December 18.

And next Saturday, December 13, Grassington Singers will take to the town hall stage.

Dressed as characters from the time of Dickens, they will sing a popular selection of carols and Christmas songs from 8pm.

HELLIFIELD: A Christmas concert will be staged in Hellifield Institute tomorrow at 7.30pm.

It will feature singing duo Ian Grey and Jane Jones, who will perform seasonal music for all ages.

Tickets are £7.50 for adults and £5 for under 16s.

SUTTON-IN-CRAVEN: The Cobbydale Singers will give a Christmas carol concert at South Craven Baptist Church on Saturday.

The concert - which starts at 7pm - will include Christmas songs and carols and there will be two soloists, Nikki Barrett from Sutton in Craven and Tom Pratt from Silsden.

Tickets are priced at £5 and can be obtained from the church, choir members or 01535 655361. There will be interval refreshments.
