SKIPTON: Skipton Players are treading the boards.

They are staging Roger McGeough’s The Hypochondriac at the Little Theatre.

lSkipton District Oddfellows will welcome back Steve Place with his tribute to Roy Orbison from 8pm on Saturday.

The performance will take place at the Three Links Club, on Rectory Lane, and visitors are welcome.

lSteve Jones and Joel Griffiths, from Starship Enterprise, will entertain at Skipton Folk Unplugged on Monday.

The club meets at the Narrow Boat pub, on Victoria Street, at 8.30pm and all are welcome.

lThe Singing for Fun singing group for anyone living with long term health conditions will meet at Skipton Baptist Church this Tuesday, and again on Tuesday, March 17, from 2pm to 3.30pm.

SETTLE: Former Christians and Yachts songwriter Henry Priestman will celebrate the release of his new live 20-track DVD at Victoria Hall tomorrow.

Called Settle Down, it was filmed during his last gig at the hall in April.

lSinger, songwriter and guitarist Becky Mills will perform at Poppies Tea Room on Saturday.

She was a member of the successful band Waking the Witch and has performed at Glastonbury and many other top venues.

APPLETREEWICK: Acoustic folk singer and songwriter Roger Davies will showcase his new album at the Craven Arms tomorrow.

Roger will perform in the Cruck Barn - a few days before his fifth album, Local Radio, is released on iTunes and Amazon.

BARNOLDSWICK: Rolls-Royce Leisure will host a Big Soul Night on Saturday.

Resident DJ Roman and guest DJs will spin records from 8pm and 1am. Entry is £5 on the door.

CONONLEY: A Northern Soul evening will be staged at the village institute on Saturday.

The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets, costing £10, are available from Cononley Post Office.

All proceeds will go towards the institute.

GIGGLESWICK: The Richard Whiteley Theatre will welcome Yorkshire poet and comedian Ian McMillan and Cartoonist of the Year Tony Husband tomorrow.

Together, they will create an illustrated poem inspired by the area and imaginary tales of the railway.

The Cartoon History of Here has been organised by the Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company.

The performance will take place at 7.30pm and is suitable for all ages.

And next Sunday, March 8, the theatre will join forces with Community Cinemas to show Walt Disney’s Big Hero 6.

It is an action-packed comedy adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, after a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo.

The screening starts at 3.30pm.

GRASSINGTON: Grassington Pantoloons are staging Red Riding Hoodie in the town hall.

There will be performances tomorrow at 7.30pm and Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

HELLIFIELD: An evening of 60s themed entertainment will be staged at the village institute on Friday, March 13.

The Swinging Sixties event will feature local singers and musicians and tickets cost £7.50 for adults and £5 for under 16s. Doors open at 7.15pm.

INGLETON: Members of Ingleton Theatre Group are treading the boards with its version of Sleeping Beauty.

KETTLEWELL: Kettlewell Village Hall will hold a film night on Saturday at 7.30pm.

The featured film will be Philomena, starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. It is a true story about a mother’s search for her lost son.

LOTHERSDALE: Flossie Malavialle and Keith Donnelly will headline at this month’s Lothersdale Live in the village hall on Saturday.

Flossie and Keith are both busy solo performers and occasionally combine as the “superduo” Dark Horses.

The Lothersdale gig will feature separate performances by the two artists as well as a selection from the Dark Horses set.

lTop covers band Flaming Dragon will perform at an 80s party at Silsden Sports Club next Saturday, March 7.

They will play hits from 80s bands The Stranglers, Soft Cell, Duran Duran, Human League, The Clash and Adam Ant.
