GRASSINGTON Festival, which runs this year from June 12 to 27, has two fantastic opportunities up for grabs for local artists.
This year the festival is including an art installation in the heart of Grassington’s Festival Square, which will run for the full duration of the festival.
Four plinths will be positioned around the square, and organisers are looking for four high standard and innovative sculptures to embellish each plinth.
They must be able to endure our Yorkshire weather, and be secured to the plinth, which are all 60cm square.
The festival’s summer art exhibition, ‘The North and Beyond’ ,to be staged at Grassington Town Hall from June 23 to 27, has also extended its deadline to coincide with that of the Four Plinths. Submissions for this should be no bigger than 70cm high and 150cm wide.
“Both exhibitions present a tremendous opening for local artists to present their work to a wide audience, as well as offering them great sales opportunities,” said a festival spokesperson.
Entries for both exhibitions must be made by May 11. For more information email admin@grassington-festival.org.uk or call 01756 752691.
