SKIPTON: Skipton Players will present the play Run for your Wife until Saturday at Skipton Little Theatre, on Clifford Street.

The play, written by Ray Cooney, tells the story of John Smith, who seems like an ordinary taxi driver, but he has been keeping a big secret.

He has a loving wife named Mary in a flat in Wimbledon, and he has another loving wife named Barbara who lives in a different flat only four minutes away in Streatham.

Skipton Embroiderers Guild and Craven Museum are taking part in the National Celebration of Stitch this Saturday.

The free event features workshops and demonstrations inspired by the Craven Museum collections.

Activities are taking place in the Hub at Skipton Town Hall from 11am to 3pm, and are suitable for all ages and abilities.

Skipton Auction Mart will host Art in the Pen on Saturday, August 12, and Sunday, August 13.

Art in the Pen was established in Skipton in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Each year, artists transform cattle pens into galleries from which they sell original works of art.

Art in the Pen will be open from 10am to 5.30pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4pm on the Sunday.

Tickets cost £3 on the door.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host singers night every Monday throughout August at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street. Start time is 8.30pm.

SETTLE: Following on from his 2010 exhibition, Canadian photographer Jim des Rivières will display a new collection of moth photographs at the Gallery on the Green in Settle until September 18.

The exhibition includes 28 moth species representing a tiny cross-section of the species found in the immediate locale of the photographer’s home in Ottawa, Canada.

The exhibition Traces of the Fen, by Margaret Uttley, will be on display at Gavagan Art Gallery in Settle until August 18.

The exhibition, which will feature charcoal drawings and mixed media paintings of the wetlands of Malham Fen, will be from 11am to 4pm Thursdays to Saturdays in Settle Town Hall.

Settle Photographic Group’s annual photo trail will run until August 22.

More than 90 framed photos will be on display in shop windows around Settle, and visitors and locals are invited to search for them.

The Kendal Mountain Festival is taking its International Film Competition on tour, and there will be screening in Settle Victoria Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday, August 12.

Films selected for the screening are will be award-winning films celebrating adventure and the great outdoors.

Sheesham and Lotus and Son, a popular old-time roots acts in North America, will perform at 7.30pm on Sunday, August 13, in Settle Victoria Hall.

BARNOLDSWICK: Dave Speight, who has been playing and singing blues for over 50 years, will perform a free concert at 7.30pm on Monday in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, 18-22 Rainhall Road.

The Gathering MK II, which features the musicians Simon Hough (Big Country), Ken Nicol (Steeleye Span), Matt Pegg (Procol Harum) and Paul Burgess (10cc), will perform a free concert at 7.30pm on Wednesday, August 23, in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre.

As admission is free to both of these concerts, please come early to avoid disappointment.

BOLTON ABBEY: Gobbledigook Theatre will perform its adaptation of Robin Hood until Sunday.

Matinee performances for the outdoor performance in the Priory grounds will be at 2pm with evening performances at 6.30pm.

CARLETON-IN-CRAVEN: Solo country artist Dave Bryan makes his return to the Iron Horse Country Music Club for a concert on Saturday, August 12, in Carleton Social Club.

Dave is an accomplished performer with a wide range of material and he mixes it with plenty of humour. Doors open at 7.15pm and admission is £5 payable on the door.

EARBY: A variety of musical acts will take the stage for this summer's Earby Fieldfest.

The event will be held from noon on Sunday, August 13, in the Bailey Street field near Earby Springfield Primary School.

Headliners for the music festival include 2017 Britain's Got Talent finalist Jamie Lee Harrison and two x-Factor participants, Tom Bleasby and Samantha Atkinson.

The music festival will also feature tributes to a host of stars including Amy Winehouse, Adele, Madonna, Elvis, Elton John, Olly Murs, George Michael and Little Mix.

GIGGLESWICK: The HandleBards, a cycling theatre company, will perform A Midsummer Night's Dream at 6.30pm on Saturday in the Giggleswick School Chapel.

GRASSINGTON: Grassington Community Cinema will screen two films on Saturday at the Octagon Theatre in Grassington Town Hall.
