TWO special creative writing events are being planned in the Dales.

The first will take place in Clapham on Wednesday, August 10, starting with a woodland walk at 2pm.

The aim is to look, listen, touch and smell and to use this information in a poetry or story.

The group will be led by an experienced and published writer and the event is suitable for both beginners and for more advanced writers who want to hone their skills.

All proceeds will go the Dales Millennium Trust with whom bookings can be made on 015242 51002 or email info@ydmt.org.

The second event is a creative writing workshop at Bolton Abbey Tea Cottage and will take place on Wednesday, September 14 between 10.30am and 4pm.

During this session, there will be opportunities to write either prose or poetry – or both - under the guidance of two experienced tutors and writers, Jean Stevens and Jean Harrison.

The Tea Cottage will provide morning coffee, a two-course lunch and tea before departure and the total cost of the day is £28.
