A MUSICAL duo who met at Giggleswick School will return there to perform at 7.30pm tomorrow in the Richard Whiteley Theatre.

The theatre's first live music event of the new season will feature the duo Eterni Amici, comprised of soprano and pianist Laurie Ashworth with tenor and saxophonist Spencer Moran.

Eterni Amici will perform an evening full of surprises as classic melodies from legendary musicals such as West Side Story and Phantom of the Opera join contemporary pop songs which are given a sensitive and modern twist.

Laurie and Spen met at Giggleswick School, where Laurie taught singing and Spen was a pupil.

Although Laurie did not teach at Giggleswick at the same time Spen was studying, they met when, as an Old Giggleswickian, Spen often came back to school to support various musical performances.

It was on one of these occasions that he asked Laurie to give him some singing lessons.

These lessons soon became ‘sing-alongs’ of some of their favourite tunes.

Laurie and Spen became lifelong friends and Eterni Amici was born.

Tickets, which cost £10 in advance or £12 on the door, are available at giggleswick.org.uk/rwt or by ringing the box office on 01729 893180. All under 18s go free.
