'I ROSE Up With The Lark' is the theme of Skipton Choral Society’s Easter concert, which will be held this weekend.
The choral society's concert will take place at 7.30pm this Saturday at Christ Church in Skipton.
A spokesman for Skipton Choral Society said: "The works to be performed suggest a deep awareness of the transience of time and life, embodied in folk songs and religious/mystical works.
"The combination of folk songs from England, Scotland and America, with motets from England and France, gives some surprising contrasts in style. Singers move between the flowing elegance of plainsong and the crunchy harmonies of contemporary songs."
The society welcomes Toby Ward to his first performance as guest tenor soloist, with regular accompanists Charlie Dobson and Jerry Davies.
Robert Webb, the society’s musical director, said: "The programme will be an enjoyable, challenging and unusual opportunity to experience a variety of styles."
Details of composers and the works to be performed are on the society’s website at skiptonchoralsociety.com
Tickets cost £10 and are available on 07716 219312, tickets@skiptonchoralsociety.com or on the door.
