SKIPTON: Puccini's best-loved opera La Bohème will be performed in English in The Mart Theatre at 7.30pm tomorrow.

La Bohème tells the story of the lives of four struggling artists living in 19th century Paris.

Manchester-based Heritage Opera, Northwest England’s professional touring opera company, will perform the opera which charts the love affair of Rodolfo, a writer, and Mimi, his neighbour, as they eke out a life living on the breadline.

Michael: The Legacy, a tribute show to Michael Jackson celebrating his life and music, will be performed in The Mart Theatre at 7.30pm on both Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10.

The show stars CJ, one of the most dedicated and well-respected Michael Jackson tribute artists in the world.

Tickets cost £21 (£17 concessions) for La Bohème and £16.50 for Michael: A Legacy.

Skipton Film Club will screen the film La Belle et la Bête, the original French fairytale known in English as Beauty and the Beast, at 5.15pm on Sunday in the Plaza Cinema, on Sackville Street.

A short film by local filmmakers will start the evening.

The film is open to everyone and tickets cost £5.50 for film club members and £6.50 for non members.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a singers night starting at 8.30pm on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street.

Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham will perform on Monday, June 12, and Monday, June 19, will be a singers night.

Phoenix Dance Theatre, the UK’s longest standing contemporary dance company outside of London, will perform the show ReFINED at 7.45pm Monday, June 26, in Skipton Town Hall.

ReFINED is a mixed programme packed with solos, duets, trios and quartets plucked from some of Phoenix's most popular recent work.

This programme is curated by the company's artistic director, Sharon Watson, showcasing movements choreographed by a number of leading names from within the industry.

SETTLE: Award-winning artist Tom Palin is displaying his paintings until July 8 in the former BT telephone box that is now the Gallery on the Green in Settle.

Jacqui Dankworth and Charlie Wood will perform the concert Just You, Just Me at 8pm tomorrow in Settle Victoria Hall.

Award-winning vocalist Jacqui Dankworth is joined on stage by her husband, acclaimed American pianist-vocalist, Charlie Wood, for a unique concert of duet arrangements celebrating a century of song.

Doors open at 7.15pm and all tickets cost £20.

The Three Other Tenors, Michael Clifton-Thompson, Howard Kirk and Gareth Dafydd Morris from Welsh National Opera, will perform at 7.30pm on Saturday in Settle Victoria Hall.

Doors open at 6.45pm and tickets cost £16.50 for a stalls and £18.50 for a balcony seat.

TRAMPS' (The Ribblesdale Area Moving Picture Show) season of foreign films continues with the screening of the 2016 film Chocolat at 7.45pm on Wednesday in Settle Victoria Hall.

Chocolat, which is in French with English subtitles, stars Omar Sy and tells the story of the clown Chocolat, who in 1886 becomes the first black artist on the French scene.

Doors open at 7pm and all tickets cost £5 on the door.

BARNOLDSWICK: English singer-songwriter Emily Maguire will perform in concert at 7.30pm on Satuday at the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, 18-22 Rainhall Road.

A classically-trained multi-instrumentalist, Emily's strong, thought-provoking lyrics, expressive vocals and stunning live performances have won her fans across the globe.

Living for four years in a shack out in the Australian bush where she made goats cheese to finance her first two albums, Emily returned to the UK in 2007 and toured extensively with some of the world's great singer-songwriters, including American legend Don McLean.

Legendary folk band Fairport Convention will perform a concert celebrating its 50th anniversary at 7.30pm on Monday in the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre.

Credited with originating British folk-rock, Fairport first took to the stage in 1967 and throughout the intervening five decades (and numerous changes of line-up) the band's passion for live performance has never wavered.

To mark its 50th year, Fairport has released a brand new CD titled 50:50@50. The band will play a selection of tracks from the album as well as long-established favourites from their extensive repertoire.

CLAPHAM: Clapham Art Group, will hold its 66th annual exhibition until Sunday.

In addition to fully framed work there will be sketches, mounted paintings and cards for sale.

The exhibition in Clapham Village Hall, on Cross Haw Lane, is open from 11am to 6pm daily.

CONISTON: The Voices of Craven 2017 Festival will start with a gala concert in The Coniston Hotel at 7pm tonight.

Concert goers will be entertained by Skipton-based soprano Bibi Heal.

Joining Bibi for the second half of the show is award-winning local jazz guitarist Neil C Young.

The film Sing for children will be screened at 4.30pm and La La Land for adults will be shown at 7.30pm.
