SKIPTON: Dean Taylor Theatre Productions will present two outdoor picnic performances of the comedy Heroes at 2pm and 6pm on Saturday at Skipton Castle.

The comedy play, adapted by Tom Stoppard, is set in 1959 in a French retirement home for First World War veterans.

Skipton Building Society Camerata will perform the concert Children of the Revolution at 7.30pm tomorrow in Skipton Town Hall.

The all-Beethoven programme, conducted by Ben Crick, features German violinist Sebastian Mueller performing the Violin Concerto in D followed by Beethoven's Symphony No 3 in E flat 'Eroica'.

Special prints by Bradford artist Danny Abrahams are being sold until Saturday at an exhibition in AC Gallery, Victoria Street. The prints will raise money for Skipton children's charity Principle Trust.

New Light: Illuminating artefacts, an exhibition at Craven Museum in Skipton Town Hall, will run until the end of July.

The exhibition is a body of work created by digital artist Paul Miller using the museum's diverse collection.

The exhibition will be open every day from 10am to 4pm, except Sundays.

Artwork by children from Brougham Street Nursery School, Skipton, will be on display in Skipton Town Hall from Tuesday to Saturday, July 22.

The exhibition will feature a seven-foot high cardboard sculpture and paintings created by the children and photographs taken by the three and four year old youngsters.

Artist and sculptor Ben Golding, who specialises in watercolours, Biro drawings and large-scale cardboard sculptures, will open the exhibition at an invite only event on Monday.

The exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday and from 10am to 2pm on the Saturday.

Skipton Players will present the play Run for your Wife from August 1 to 5 at Skipton Little Theatre, on Clifford Street.

Skipton Folk Unplugged will host a singers night starting at 8.30pm on Monday at the Narrow Boat, on Victoria Street.

SETTLE: Canadian photographer Jim des Rivières will display a collection of moth photographs at the Gallery on the Green in Settle until September 18.

The exhibition includes 28 moth species representing species found near the photographer’s home in Ottawa, Canada.

The exhibition Traces of the Fen, by Margaret Uttley, will be on display at Gavagan Art Gallery in Settle from Saturday to August 18.

The exhibition, which will feature charcoal drawings and mixed media paintings of Malham Fen, will be open from 11am to 4pm Thursdays to Saturdays in Settle Town Hall.

CONONLEY: The Cononley Singers invite everyone to Songs From The Summer Of Love, their summer concert which will be held at Christ Church in Skipton tomorrow and at Cononley Village Institute on Saturday. Both performances start at 7.30pm.

As well as featuring songs from Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, the choir will perform other famous songs from the summer of 1967. The singers will also perform in costume from that era.

CROSS HILLS: Gallagher's Ale House, on Main Street, Cross Hills, will hold a charity event on Sunday to raise money for Geordie Jim's Boys.

The event, which starts at 1pm, will feature performances by musicians Jamie Squire, Niamh Mirfield, Callum Spencer, Brian James Comber, Lucas Watt, Jake Dixon, Beth Armitage and Gaz Keeton.

The event will raise funds for Geordie Jim's Boys, a charity which was started up by Gallagher's regular and Cowling man Jim Thompson after he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer in 2011.

EARBY: A variety of musical acts will perform at this summer's Earby Fieldfest.

The event will be held from noon on Sunday, August 13, in the Bailey Street field near Earby Springfield Primary School.

HORTON-IN-RIBBLESDALE: The Friends of Victoria Hall are inviting everyone to a Strawberries and Cream Garden Party taking place at Studfold House on Saturday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

The event at Studfold House, which is on the B6479 about two miles from Horton-in-Ribblesdale, is a fundraiser for Victoria Hall and all tickets cost £5.
