Sir – Is there no end to the desire of developers to get rid of our countryside?
Once we have damaged this world there is no Planet B to go to.
In England we are covering the countryside with bricks and mortar, concrete and tarmac: so much so that our flora and fauna (biodiversity) are in trouble.
Human beings depend on a healthy natural world and indeed there is no Planet B when we have trashed this one.
Building houses, supermarkets and industrial units brings profit to the developers in the short term but Skipton needs a green landscape much more than Wyvern Park.
Agriculture is ever more important with an increasing population and our town centres will not improve with yet another supermarket!
