AS I collect my thoughts together, I am surrounded by the news in the various forms of the media of the tragic events of the last few days in France, Tunisia and Kuwait. Just today we see on the television the repatriation of those who sadly lost their lives in Tunisia.

In many of the interviews which have been held during these tragedies it has been marvellous to hear of the many acts of heroism which have taken place. But one, in particular, that stood out to me was the testimony of how the Tunisians themselves, especially in the hotel, did all they could to save those holidaymakers who had not been caught up in the shooting, for instance by hiding them under beds or in cupboards in the bedrooms.

In fact, it was commented upon that all the different races and religions helped one another. There was no barrier. Hallelujah!

In other words, they all showed love one towards the other despite their differences. I am reminded of Jesus’ words: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another" (John 13:34) - even those who we think of as being unlovable.

We, as Christians, have a head start because Jesus living in us by way of His Holy Spirit helps us to love such people. The Gospel message is for all; no-one, no matter their race or creed, is excluded.

John 3:16 says: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…" What greater love is there than that? I pray that you will let Jesus into your heart so you can experience the reality of his wonderful love for yourself.
