Councillors are exploring the possibility of getting a piece of land in Barnoldswick designated as a nature reserve.
Coun David Whipp, who chairs the West Craven Area Committee, said: “During the summer, we had a representative from The Wildlife Trust come to Barnoldswick. He drew my attention to the fact that we have a rich ecology, but we haven’t got many officially recognised nature reserves in Barnoldswick.
“We’re looking at possible areas to designate as a nature reserve. One such possibility is the corridor that Stocks Beck follows through the town.”
