Skipton’s Greatwood Community Centre will host a Polish Christmas event tomorrow (Friday).
To mark St Nicholas Day, the centre has organised a fun-filled afternoon with traditional Polish foods, craft activities and a visit from Santa. And visitors will also be able to learn about the traditions of a Polish Christmas, such as who St Nicholas is and why gifts are left in shoes.
There are several Polish families living on the Greatwood estate, with many involved in projects such as the Little Feet Creche.
Running from noon to 2pm, the free event is open to everyone and will also include an English buffet as well as popular “sticky fingers” craft activities for the under fives.
