Village fair: A fair held on Saturday raised more than £1,700 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Thanks go to Denise Hirst and Trudy Murgatroyd for organising the event and to everyone who contributed.
Parish council: The council will meet on Wednesday and the agenda is published on the village noticeboards and on the website draughton.org.
Carol service: The Christmas carol service is to be held in St Augustine’s Church on Sunday, December 23, at 5pm. This will be a traditional family service of lessons and carols, accompanied by organ and violin, and mulled wine and mince pies will be served afterwards in the village hall. The bar will remain open during the evening for a pre-Christmas village get-together.
