A transformation has taken place within the walls of the historic building which is Craven College in High Street, Skipton.

Inside its Edwardian facade work has been completed to bring it into the 21st century with state-of-the art facilities that few other colleges of its size could match.

The refurbishment has seen the relocation of students in the Academy of Hair and Beauty from Coach Street and Victoria Square, Skipton, along with students studying catering and hospitality into new facilities.

The work complements the College Brasserie, prep kitchen and skills kitchen where students are training to be chefs, service personnel and events and venue managers.

Principal Robert Bellfield said: “We continue to invest significant funds in our accommodation to provide industry standard facilities for all our students.

“The new Academy of Hair and Beauty includes new hair salons, beauty salon and nail salon. The ground floor hair salon will be run by managers and will feature two new individual treatment beauty rooms.”

Students can get all the information they want about studying at Craven College from an information point.

There are opportunities to study for A-levels or a vocational qualification or take the apprenticeship route into employment. Part-time study is also available to update qualifications, to build up a CV and increase earning potential, change career direction or get back into work or just for the pleasure of meeting new people and experiencing a new challenge.

The college is planning an official launch and opening of the new facilities shortly.
