These Year 10 students from West Craven High Technology College at Barnoldswick are to take part in a Junior University programme.
The 17 pupils had to apply to be part of the University of Central Lancashire scheme, which runs from February to July.
The students will attend the Burnley campus every Wednesday for after-school workshops, which will deal with topics such as interview techniques, writing personal statements, college and university life and finances.
There will also be a small number of Saturday workshops, which cover social events and team-building exercises.
When the programme finishes, the students will participate in a residential visit at the Preston campus, after which they will attend a graduation ceremony.
