Local author Katie Daynes spent the day at Bradley Primary School.
Katie, who has written more than 50 Usbourne children’s books, led writing workshops for all the school’s pupils.
“The children were thrilled to be able to work with a real life author,” said a school spokesman.
“Being able to talk with Katie about her work allowed the children to explore writing from a different perspective.
“It was a thoroughly enjoyable day with lots of fun and an inspiration to all.”
