Pupils at St Stephen’s Primary school, Skipton, who carried out a project on London, received a surprise letter from the Queen.
All 27 youngsters from year three wrote to the Monarch asking how she spent her day – and about her pets.
The response was a letter from the Queen, saying how pleased she was that the children had shown an interest in the Royal family and enclosing information about her life in Buckingham Palace along with a photograph of her coronation and Jubilee celebrations.
They now take pride of place on the classroom wall.
“The children were so excited to get a response and so quickly,” said teaching assistant Sally Bullock.
