Kettlewell School headteacher Lesley Taylor, recruited after pupils made a hip-hop song appealing for applicants, has left for pastures new.
Mrs Taylor was appointed in 2006 after the 26 pupils made a CD, which was played on local radio, as well as national stations including BBC Radio 2 and Radio 4.
The school got 35 requests for application forms from prospective applicants.
In 2009, Mrs Taylor took on extra responsibilties, with the headship of Arncliffe School, but a short time later both schools were earmarked for closure.
A campaign to save them was launched, which resulted in a reprieve for Kettlewell but closure for Arn- cliffe.
Mrs Taylor again extended her remit in 2011, taking on the additional headship of Grassington Primary School, She has now left both schools to take up an appointment within the local authority.
