Bolton Abbey was alive with the sound of barking when it provided the scenic backdrop to a sponsored Go Walkies and fun day for Guide Dogs.

The event, organised by the West Yorkshire branch of the charity, was a huge success with more than 80 walkers and their dogs turning out for the sponsored walk (pictured).

Emmerdale star Chris Chittell opened the event and completed a blindfold walk with guide dog Delphi.

More than £3,800 was raised in total.

Lily Prestwood, Guide Dogs Leeds Mobility Team fundraiser, said: “Everyone had a wonderful time and we would like to thank all our sponsors for their generosity and support, and not forgetting the wonderful walkers and volunteers who raised so much money for the charity.

“Guide Dogs receives no government funding and is reliant on sponsorship events such as this, so it is especially gratifying to see so many people supporting us in this way.”

Guide Dogs are currently looking for volunteers to help with their fundraising branch in Skipton. If you could spare any time, however small, contact leeds@guidedogs.org.uk for further information
