The Skipton Vintage and Antiques Fair will return to the town on Sunday, with 25 stalls featuring vintage fashion and homewares from the 1920s to the 1980s.

First held in 2011, the event proved very popular, even prompting one local resident to write a letter to the Herald, praising its quality and variety.

The event was put on hold while organiser Caroline Brown ran two vintage shops in Saltaire, but now that she has closed the shops, she has decided to resurrect the fair.

“We’re so glad to be back in Skipton,” she said. “We are bringing rail after rail of genuine vintage fashion to the centre of Skipton, and for those who like to give their homes soul and personality there will be a wonderful selection of vintage and antique furniture and homewares to choose from.

“Buying second-hand is the best form of recycling – it enables you to buy something unique, well-made and with a history.”

The fair – which will be staged in the town hall – will also have a vintage style tearoom and vintage tunes playing all day.
