Andy Swinscoe, from The Courtyard Dairy at Settle, visited Kirkby in Malhamdale Primary School to work with the year six leavers as an end of school treat.
Under his watchful eye, the youngsters worked with milk, bacteria and rennet to create curds and whey.
“They made a soft cheese out of fresh full fat organic milk during the afternoon,” said teaching assistant Jackie Rushton. “The children took a sample home to enjoy. It was very hands on and something we’d not done in school before.”
