North Yorkshire Police are investigating a robbery and numerous thefts from tents at a music festival in the Skipton area.
The incidents occurred during the Beacons Festival, which was staged at Heslaker Lane, Carleton, between August 15 and 19.
The 26-year-old male victim of the robbery, who is from Tyne and Wear, was approached by an unknown man between 12.30am and 1am on the Monday and was threatened with what appeared to be a craft knife. He was told to hand over a grey HTC mobile phone and a small amount of cash.
The suspect is described as white, aged about 25, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall, clean shaven, with a Yorkshire accent. He was wearing a baggy hooded top.
Enquires are also ongoing into 17 separate reports of theft of items including mobile phones, cash and bank cards, which are believed to have been taken from festival-goers’ tents.
A 23-year-old man from Manchester was also arrested at on Saturday on suspicion of intent to supply cannabis. He was released on police bail pending further investigation.
