The first ever Great Bentham Duck Race will be staged on Bank Holiday Sunday.
It is being organised by the We Are Bentham group and will take place on the River Wenning.
“Like all outdoor race courses, the going will very much depend on how wet it has been on the lead up to the race,” said a group spokesman.
The race, which coincides with the town’s beer festival, will start at 2pm and ducks can be bought for £1 from various local outlets. The winner will receive £200.
There is more fun on Bank Holiday Monday, with the Thwaites shire horses at the Black Bull and donkey rides available at the Horse and Farrier.
