People living in a Dales community are to showcase their talents at St Leonard’s Church, Chapel-le-Dale on Bank Holiday Monday.
One of the organisers, Sandra Ireton said it was hoped the event, running between 10am and 4pm, will be the first of others.
“The aim is to put across to the wider community what diverse talents there are in the dale,” she said.
It will include an exhibition of rural skills including spinning and butter churning and a display of knitting, sewing and hand-made silk scarfs.
There will be sugar sculpture and paintings by Alan Roberts, who lives and works in the dale, a display of books by local authors, Settle to Carlisle railway memorabilia and floral exhibits and if the day is fine, a display of Old English goats and a milking demonstration.
