North Yorkshire Police has this week launched a major operation to combat rural and cross-border crime.
Operation Hawk is an intelligence-led campaign with the aim to pursue and disrupt travelling criminals who intend to prey on our rural communities.
It involves using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology and sharing information with colleagues from neighbouring policing areas, focusing on people suspected of targeting farms, rural businesses, outbuildings and vehicles.
