Women’s Institute: President Sue Brown welcomed members and guests to the August meeting and business matters were dealt with. Guest speaker was Pat Pickard, whose talk was entitled A Nurse’s Journey. It covered 43 years of of her nursing career in hospitals, district nursing and finally as a practice nurse. Sue Ellis gave the vote of thanks. Members were reminded about the group show on Saturday, September 21, and the craft workshop day on October 19. The speaker at the next meeting on Monday, September 9, is Alan Beaumont whose talk is entitled Cradle to Grave - Historic Postcards. The meeting starts at 7.30pm at the Ingleborough Community Centre and visitors are welcome.
