Silsdenbury Festival: Coming up this August Bank Holiday weekend is Silsdenbury Fest, a free event run by volunteers for the local community. Taking place in the park, there will be two days of musical entertainment on Saturday and Sunday, made up of tribute acts and local bands. In addition a funfair will be open from Friday evening, and there will be a licensed bar and refreshments. The bands will perform in a marquee holding 1,000 people and a giant screen will also be set up outside. The event offers fun for all the family, so bring a picnic to the park and enjoy the entertainment. No glass or fires are allowed. The team behind Silsdenbury is also looking for people to help over the weekend with litter picking, selling raffle tickets, setting up and clearing away. If anyone can help, call Andy Conway 07957 887078 or Karen Amos 07740 766374. See the Silsdenbury website for more information on the line-up at silsdenevents.co.uk/about/event/ Car boot sale: The Friends of Airedale Hospital hold car boot sales twice a month throughout the summer.
