A Steeton woman who organises coffee mornings in aid of a children’s hospice has handed over another donation.

Lynda Corser has presented a further £900 to Martin House, at Boston Spa.

The latest cash was raised by a party held by Mrs Corser and her husband Clive, at Sutton Village Hall, to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.

The couple asked for donations in lieu of gifts.

“We were delighted with how much was raised and with gift aid the total should exceed £1,000,” said Mrs Corser. “We would like to thank everyone who contribut- ed.

“The hospice does wonderful work and every penny makes a difference.”

She supports Martin House in tribute to the care received there by her late nephew, Andrew Pratt, who died at the hospice in 1998 at the age of 12.

The next coffee morning is at St Stephen’s Church Hall, Steeton, on Saturday from 10am to noon.

Attractions will include hand-crafted cards, crafts, cakes, a raffle, tombola and refreshments.
