About 50 wreaths are expected to be laid at Skipton’s Remembrance service on Sunday.
It is the first Armistice service to be held at the town’s war memorial since it was rededicated with the name of 29-year-old Gareth Thursby added to the plaque.
Sgt Thursby, from Skipton and a member of the Yorkshire Regiment, died in September last year after he was gunned down by a rogue Afghan policeman inside a checkpoint in Helmand Province.
His family and regiment are expected to lay wreaths.
As usual, the parade will assemble on Bunkers Hill at 10.35am and past and present members of the armed forces, civic dignitaries and representatives of local organisations will march to the war memorial for a short ceremony at 11am.
It will be followed by a service at Holy Trinity Church, after which those taking part in the parade will march back to the White Rose Club, with the salute taken by Deputy Lieutenant Brigadier Johnny Wardle.
