Craven College students are set to benefit from changes on a key bus service which connects Skipton with Leeds.

Bus operator First said it was planning a number of service improvements on the X84 bus to meet the needs of its customers – including additional and extended journeys.

The company says the changes are based on feedback from customers and will benefit many passengers, particularly students travelling to the Aireville campus of Craven College.

Among the changes are the extension of the 7.10am from Leeds to Skipton to take in the campus and alterations to its ticket structure to allow its West Yorkshire tickets to be used on the full X84 route from Leeds to Skipton.

Brandon Jones, head of communications for First in West Yorkshire, said: “We have enjoyed listening to the views of hundreds of our customers and we have used this feedback to make a number of key changes to the X84 service.

“Our aim is to grow the number of people using First buses in the area and we believe that by listening to what our customers and the local communities say then we are in a stronger position to achieve this in the future.”

Craven College said many students travelled some distance to study and the extended route of the X84 bus was “much appreciated”.
