Residential plans for a disused barn in Dallicar Lane, Giggleswick, have been dismissed on appeal to the Planning Inspectorate.

An appeal was made to convert the barn at Sheephouse Laithe after it was refused permission in June by Craven District Council.

But Government inspector Peter Eggleton has upheld the council’s decision and dismissed the appeal, saying it would harm the character of the area and conflict with rural development policies.
