Children at Skipton Parish Church Primary School are reading their way to success.
A total of £5,000 has been spent on new reading books using money left to the school by former governor, Barbara Barrett.
“Miss Barrett was a foundation governor for a number of years and regularly came into school to help children with their reading,” said literacy leader Catherine Pickles.
“It seemed fitting to spend some of her legacy on new reading books for the children. Teachers have already commented that the children are excited. I think Miss Barrett would have been thrilled to know that her legacy is providing children with a love of reading.”
