Craven schoolchildren lent their voices to a huge concert in Sheffield last week.

Youngsters from primary schools including Christ Church in Skipton and Carleton helped to make up a 5,000-strong choir for the Young Voices concert, led by former X Factor finalist Stacey Solomon.

Headteacher at Carleton Duggie Speight said: “We took 32 children in a couple of coaches, along with Christ Church.

“It was brilliant. The kids loved meeting Stacey and all the parents raved about the performance.

“We’re definitely going to do it again next year.”

Christ Church took 21 children from Years 3 to 6.

School organiser Mrs Herbert said: “It’s been a really memorable experience for the children and the opportunity to perform with professional musicians – definitely an event to be remembered.”

Greatwood School in Skipton also took part.
