Police are appealing for information after thieves stole floodlights from the heritage railway at Bolton Abbey.
They took three, gas-powered Bull Finch lights from the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway overnight on New Year’s Eve. The lights were being used to provide lighting for the car park station.
PC Simon Crossley, of Grassington Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The loss of the lights have had a big impact on the operation of the railway which is a charity.
“The replacement costs will have to come out of the running costs which will be a big financial burden on the organisation.”
Anyone with information is asked to PC Crossley on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting reference 12140014074.
