Ingleton Library is about to host of a series of creative workshops as part of an Arts Council England funded project to put artists into libraries to work with communities.

The aim is to widen participation in artistic activity, raise the profile of libraries and engage with children, families and older people to develop intergenerational projects that will be fun and inspiring.

The Ingleton workshops are being delivered in partnership with NYMAZ and North Yorkshire County Council Youth Services.

The programme will start with an all-age mixed media session, led by Skipton-based artist Jaki Bogg next Wednesday, February 19, from 10am to 5pm.

Further workshops will take place from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesdays, February 26, March 5, 12 and 24 and April 2, culminating in a celebration event and exhibition on Saturday, April 5, from 10am to noon.

And also planned for the year are music workshops with Rich Huxley, photography with Rebecca Heim, creative writing with Saviour Pirotta, digital art and video with Ross Anderson and mosaics with Gabi Naptali.
