Age Concern: Members of Age Concern met at the Masonic Hall on Friday. After lunch, members were entertained by Peter Marshall who gave a talk on pub signs, explaining how different pubs in the country got their names. The raffle winner was Edna Parnell.
Coffee morning: A successful coffee morning was held in the town hall on Saturday, which raised £225 for LASRUG (the Lancaster and Skipton Rail Users Group).
Women Institute: Members of Low Bentham WI met at the Victoria Institute on Thursday. The president, Christine Jennings, led the business meeting and introduced Ken Briggs whose talk was entitled Lunetic. Mr Briggs is responsible for the river from Skerton Bridge, Lancaster, to Kirkby Lonsdale. A competition for a nature photograph was won by Kathryn Brownsord, with Christine Jennings second and Sheila Brown third.
Beetle drive: There will be a family beetle drive at the Methodist Church tomorrow at 6pm. Refreshments will be served.
Film group: The Film Group will show the acclaimed film, Philomena, in the town hall tomorrow at 8pm. Tickets will be available at the door.
