Flower festival: St Mary’s will hold a flower festival over the weekend of May 30 and June 1, finishing with a songs of praise and thanksgiving service for the lives of Alan and Edna Nicholls and an auction of flower arrangements. The theme is Our Heritage: A Celebration in Flowers of Notable Anniversaries in 2014. There will be a memory tree where you can put the names of loved ones on a leaf and hang it on the tree for £5. Contact Judith or Susan for further details.

Open gardens: St Mary’s is arranging an open gardens weekend on July 12 and 13. If you would like to open your garden to visitors or have your garden as a “peep over the wall” entry in the Garden Guide, contact Judith Windle on 795457 or email susanmholmes@aol.com Archive plea: Carleton Village Archive is creating a detailed catalogue of the information to be found in past copies of the St Mary’s Parish Magazine.
