Fashion design students at Craven College, Skipton, were inspired by engineering principles for their annual presentation evening.

Two designers from Broughton pram makers Silver Cross – which sponsors the annual show – attended the evening and saw two “lace” wheels produced by the students.

Tutor Joan Murray said: “They used a contemporary lacemaking textile technique to develop the wheels.

“The Silver Cross team and design studio continue to encourage and inspire the students with their professionalism and high standard of workmanship in product design and textiles through visits and work experience.”

The wheels are on display in Christ Church, Skipton.
